Iyer got out playing a pull shot which is now becoming a regular event

In 6 matches so far, he has scored 134 runs at an average off 33.50 with his best being 53*

His lack of form at No 4 is a major concern for India and a few experts want KL Rahul to bat in his place

But will that be a good move for India? There are many reasons it may not be

Rahul plays as a finisher and him being promoted to No 4 could create a vacuum lower down the order

Also, Iyer is an excellent player of spin and in Indian conditions he is well equipped to do well in middle overs

We mustn't forget that he made a hundred and 48 against Australia just before the start of World Cup

But if Iyer is dropped in any case. Who should replace him?

Until Hardik Pandya is back, Ishan Kishan can be a perfect replacement instead of promoting Rahul

This way India can balance their batting lineup without compromising on finishing power
