Sri Lanka's Angelo Mathews was dismissed in bizarre fashion, being given "timed out" by the umpires 

While coming onto bat, Mathews faced an issue with his helmet strap. However, Mathews took more than two minutes to settle down at the crease

Bangladesh players were quick to take note of that, and appealed to the umpires, who dismissed Mathews off the field 

Mathews would, however, go onto claim the dismissals of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan during Bangladesh's chase 

Shakib and Najmul went onto stitch a 169-run stand for the third wicket to help Bangladesh chase down 280 

Shakib al Hasan went onto hit his 56th ODI fifty 

Earlier, a century from Charith Asalanka led Sri Lanka to 279 

In the aftermath of the controversy, the Lankan players refused to shake hands with their Bangladesh counterparts
