Afghanistan brought an end to their WC campaign with a loss by five wickets against South Africa.
Afghanistan however, have produced a stellar campaign in the tournament racking up wins against tough opposition.
The side managed to produce a victory over the defending champions England by a big margin of 69 runs which was a huge upset.
They also went on to win against Pakistan by a massive an eight-wicket making it another upset.
They made it back-to-back victories with another win over Sri Lanka that too by seven wickets.
Afghanistan made it three wins in a row after defeating the Netherlands by seven wickets to put them in the race for the semi-finals.
Despite their heartbreaking loss to Australia and now South Africa, Afghanistan have produced their best World Cup campaign so far in their history while also entertaining the crowds.
Rashid Khan finishes as the highest wicket-taker for Afghanistan having picked 11 wickets in his nine games.
Ibrahim Zadran finished as the highest run-scorer for Afghanistan having scored 376 runs in his nine games in the WC 2023 campaign.
