All the 20 teams for the 2024 T20 World Cup have been finalised after November 30, 2023, Thursday’s Uganda vs Rwanda T20 match.
The qualified teams include 1 team each from the Americas and East Asia-Pacific regions, and 2 teams each from Africa, Asia, and Europe.
The qualified teams are- Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Uganda, USA and West Indies.
Uganda has made history by qualifying for their first-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, by defeating Rwanda. They were the last to complete the 20-team lineup.
The tournament format includes the 20 teams being divided into 4 groups. Then the top 2 teams of each group moving to a Super Eight round.
The remaining teams will be split into 2 groups of four. The top 2 in each group (i.e., 4 teams) will then make their way to the semi-finals, followed by the final.
