Rockstar Games unveils GTA VI, set in Vice City with female lead

Rockstar Games has officially unveiled Grand Theft Auto VI, set in the fictional Vice City with a female protagonist, marking a new chapter in the iconic game series.

Game Release

"GTA VI" will be released in 2025, according to the trailer posted to the studio's YouTube channel, after a version was leaked on social media. 

Record-Breaking Budget

The game is set to be the most expensive ever made, with a confirmed budget of over $2,000,000,000, setting a new record for the most costly production in history.

Gameplay Leak

On September 17th, 2022, footage from an unfinished build of the game was leaked onto the internet, providing an early glimpse into the game.

Expanded Map

The leaked gameplay footage revealed that the game’s map is approximately 56% larger than its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V (2013).

Sequel Setting

Grand Theft Auto VI takes place after the events of Grand Theft Auto V (2013), continuing the storyline.

Vice City Adventures

The trailer of GTA VI reveals its setting in Vice City, a fictionalised version of Miami. It introduces the female protagonist, Lucia.

Decade-Long Wait

The teaser for the game came more than a decade after the launch of its predecessor, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games.

Sales Predictions

Several analysts have predicted that the new title will be an instant hit, generating billions of dollars in sales each year.

Artwork Reference

The official artwork, featuring a flock of seagulls, nods to the band A Flock of Seagulls, whose song “I Ran (So Far Away)” is in GTA: Vice City trailers.
