The recent T20I series between India and Australia gave an idea of where the Men in Blue's youngsters stand as far as their performance is concerned

India were missing the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, so this was the perfect chance for youngsters to shine 

With the T20 World Cup taking place in June next year, we take a look at five youngsters who are frontrunners to make the cut for the showpiece event 

Ruturaj Gaikwad was in stellar form, having scored 223 runs to finish as the top run-getter of the series 

Ravi Bishnoi might have gone up the pecking order ahead of Chahal, having scalped nine wickets in the T20I series against Australia  

Rinku Singh was excellent with his finishing of games, even handling pressure situations very well   

Arshdeep Singh was efficient in the final over of the fifth T20I against Australia. His ability to strike in the death overs makes him a valuable weapon in India's bowling attack   

Despite not getting the big scores mostly, Jaiswal was responsible for getting his team off to explosive starts in the powerplay
