7 Easy Steps to Plant Boston Ivy at Home

Producer:  Mehak Pal

You may want to use Boston ivy to cover buildings, walls, trellises, arbors, and fences. Here are some easy steps to grow Boston Ivy bushy at home.

Step 1 Select a location that receives full sun or partial sun.

Step 2 Take a well-draining pot or container and fill it with a quality potting mix.

Step 3 Dig a hole the size of the rootball in well-draining, loamy soil for each plant.

Step 4 Place the plant in the hole and fill around the roots with soil, pressing down lightly on the soil to remove air pockets.

Step 5 Water the plant well. You can also add compost if the soil needs it.

Step 6 After the plant is established and begins growing rapidly, plan to prune annually in early spring before the leaves emerge.

Step 7 Trim the leafless vines back significantly to maintain the desired length and shape of the vine.
