Anumula Revanth Reddy was born in November 1969 in Mahboobnagar district of present-day Telangana.
Reddy, a first-gen politician was in his family's agriculture business, before starting his career in politics with the ABVP while he was a student.
Revanth Reddy got married to Geeta Reddy, niece of senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy in 1992.
Reddy became a member of the TRS in 2001 and then entered politics as an independent candidate in 2007. He later joined the TDP and switched to Congress in 2017. He was made the party's state president in 2021.
In 2015, Reddy was arrested in a cash-for-vote scam after he was caught on camera offering ₹50 lakh to a nominated MLA to lure him to cast his franchise in favour of a TDP candidate in the MLC election
Reddy, who was a Malkajgiri MP until winning the Assembly elections, has assets pegged to be around ₹30 crore
In the Telangana Assembly elections 2023, Reddy won the Kodangal seat and lost the Kamareddy seat, along with the ex-CM KCR to BJP's Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy.
