The senior batter is expected to be back in time for the first Test against South Africa

Also, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the series because of a finger injury

Abhimanyu Easwaran who is in South Afrcia with India A could be his replacement

Earlier, Ishan Kishan had pulled out of South Africa Test series

India have never won a Test series in South Africa and the team will be looking to break that jinx
