WWE SmackDown, December 22 Results: AJ Styles Returns, Eight-Woman Tag Team Action

Producer:  Siddarth Sriram

The show kicked off with AJ Styles cutting a promo. He made a surprise return last week during Randy Orton and Jimmy Uso’s match.

Next, the eight-woman tag-team match ended as SKY walked  into an Eat Defeat before ascending to the top rope and delivering a leg drop for a pinfall win.

Dragon Lee then defended his North American Championship in a match against Butch, where he successfully pinned him to remain champion.

Kevin Owens then faced off against  Carmelo Hayes in a semi-final match for the United States Championship Tournament, where Owens hit a Swanton Bomb and a stunner to pick up an easy victory.

In the other semi-final., Bobby Lashley was pitted against Santos Escobar, and Lashley seemed to be dominating

After a commercial break, a masked figure appeared out of nowhere to distract Lashley. This enabled Escobar to roll up his opponent and take a pinfall victory.

For the main event, AJ Styles faced off against Solo Sikoa, in an encounter which went back and forth.

Despite getting countered, he managed to land the Phenomenal Forearm before getting blindsided by Roman Reigns. This led to a disqualification and no winner was decided.
