2nd ODI: Deepti Sharma Takes Five-fer but Australia beat India to Seal Series
Producer: Aditya Maheshwari
Richa Ghosh's career-best 96 and Deepti Sharma's 5/38 went in vain as Australia clinched a thrilling three-run win to seal series.
Chasing 259, Richa Ghosh led India's reply with a fine 117-ball 96 featuring 13 fours.
Opting to bat, the tourists rallied to post 258/8 on the back of opener Phoebe Litchfield's 63 and Ellyse Perry's 50.
Ellyse Perry played a counter-attacking knock after Alyssa Healy's early departure.
Phoebe Litchfield played a sensible knock but missed her chance to convert it into a triple-digit score.
Deepti Sharma spun her web around the Aussies batters and claimed a five-wicket haul.
Apart from Ghosh's heroics with the bat, India also had their vice-captain Smriti Mandhana providing early fireworks with a 38-ball 34 (3x4s, 1x6s).
Richa Ghosh was one stroke away from her maiden ton, Litchfield pulled off superb catch off Annabel Sutherland to deny her the feat.
