Who Is Arun Yogiraj, Sculptor Whose Ram Lalla Idol Is Selected?

The consecration of Ram Lalla in the Ayodhya temple will take place at 12.20 pm on January 22, 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 'Pran-Pratishtha' or consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The idol of 'Ram Lalla' carved by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj will adore the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Arun Yogiraj hails from a family of sculptors in Karnataka. He used a unique Krishna shila (stone) from Bujjegoudanapura village in Mysuru district to sculpt the Ram Lalla idol along with his team.

He began his journey into the world of sculpting at the age of 11. He was influenced by his father, Yogiraj, and grandfather, Basavanna Shilpi.

He pursued an MBA and worked in a private firm for a couple of years.

Earlier, he sculpted a 30-foot statue of Subhash Chandra Bose, which has been installed at the Amar Jawan Jyoti near India Gate, New Delhi.

Arun Yogiraj is known for the 12-foot tall sculpture of Adi Shankaracharya in Kedarnath and a 21-foot tall Hanuman statue in Mysore.
