As Ayodhya gears up for the 'Pran Pratishtha' or consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir, Ram Path, the road leading to the temple, is still under construction.

The Ram Mandir will be consecrated on January 22, where Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and more than 6,000 people are expected to attend the grand "Pran Pratishtha" ceremony.

Even though work is going on in full swing, locals believe it will be very difficult to complete the construction work on Ram Path before January 22.

The construction work started in 2022 and many people had to vacate and live on rent because of the construction.

Around 10-12 feet of land were taken from the houses for widening the road. Although compensation has been provided to people, the road remains in shambles.

Locals have also complained of water supply being disrupted in the area for the last six months.

The festivities in the city will commence from January 14, 2024, continuing until the consecration ceremony.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹1,800 crore, the traditional Nagar-style temple has a total length (east-west) of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet.

The three-storied temple has a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors, while each floor is 20 feet tall.

The architectural marvel by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is designed to withstand earthquakes and endure for over a millennium.

Ahead of the consecration ceremony, PM Modi on December 30 inaugurated a slew of development projects worth ₹15,000 crore including Ayodhya Airport and redeveloped Ayodhya Railway Station.
