The auspicious harvest festival, Makar Sankranti is symbolic of the change in weather and commencement of warmer days. Here are ten dishes prepared for the occasion.

Ellu Bella

It is a traditional snack from Karnataka made with black sesame seeds, roasted peanuts, dried coconut, jaggery, and roasted gram.

Teepi Punugulu

This snack is native to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They are crispy fritters made from fermented rice and lentil batter.

Dahi Chiwda

This delicacy is made with poha, yoghurt, coriander leaves, grated carrots, and seasonings.

Tilgulachi Vadi

Tilgulachi vadi is a Maharashtrian delicacy made with dry roasted sesame seeds and jaggery syrup.
