States’ Startup Ranking 2022: Maharashtra, Rajasthan among top performers

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) periodically assesses India’s States and Union Territories through the Startup Ranking, evaluating their efforts in fostering a conducive startup growth environment.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on January 16 announced the results of the 4th edition of the States’ Startup Ranking for 2022 at an event held in New Delhi at Bharat Mandapam.

A total of 33 states and Union territories (UTs) participated in the exercise, which ranked them under five categories – best performers, top performers, leaders, aspiring leaders and emerging ecosystems.

Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh.

BEST PERFORMERS

Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Telangana.

TOP PERFORMERS

Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Tripura.

LEADERS

Bihar, Haryana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Nagaland.

ASPIRING LEADERS

Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Ladakh, Mizoram, Puducherry, and Sikkim.
