How to Make Tasty Kashmiri Yakhni Pulao at Home

This popular Kashmiri dish is a great option to serve at family gatherings and different kinds of occasions. Here's a step-by-step guide to prepare it at your home.

Ingredients Rice 1 cup Chicken 250 gm Whole spices Onions (Sliced and Fried) 2 Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp Salt (According to taste) Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp Coriander powder 1/2 tsp Garam masala 1/2 tsp

Step 1 Combine the whole spices and wrap them in a muslin cloth. Tie it from all ends to make a polti (bag).

Step 2 Boil chicken pieces in water along with the spice potli.

Step 3 Remove the potli and keep the stock. This is called yakhni.

Step 4 Heat ghee in a pan. Roast the rest of the spices for a minute. Add the yakhni.

Step 5 Now, add rice and cook till rice is done.

Step 6 Top it with fried onion slices and serve hot.
