India scripts breakthrough at Davos on global gender equality

India sets up 'Alliance For Global Good: Gender Equity & Equality' on sidelines of WEF 2024 at Davos to drive gender equality and women empowerment as per G20 commitments.

The alliance is the brainchild of PM Narendra Modi and efforts to stitch the alliance together were spearheaded by women and child development minister Smriti Irani.

Gates Foundation Support

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have pledged their support to the Alliance for Global Good.

Corporate Backing

The alliance is backed by companies like Mastercard, Uber, Tata, TVS, Bayer, Godrej, and Serum Institute of India.

Pharma Support

Novartis and 10,000+ industry partners via CI are also supporting the alliance.

Tech Giants Onboard

Tech giants like SAP, Microsoft, and Zoom are partners of the Alliance for Global Good.

Financial Institutions Involved

The European Investment Bank and Bankers Without Borders are part of the alliance.

Women’s Health Advocacy

Women in Global Health and AVN are partners, advocating for women’s health globally.

Strategic Partnerships

The United States-India Strategic Partnership Forum is a partner in the alliance.

Network and Institutional Partners

The World Economic Forum and Invest India are onboarded as ‘Network Partner’ and ‘Institutional Partner’ respectively.

Breakthrough at Davos

The breakthrough for the alliance came on the sidelines of the WEF at Davos.
