A Look At Zakir Hussain's Grammy Triumph

Zakir Hussain made a hatrick at the 66th Grammy Awards.

He won the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album award for As We Speak.

Pashto, a number from As We Speak, won in the Best Global Music Performance Category.

The Ustad also won with his band Shakti in the Best Global Music Album category.

Zakir Hussain now has four Grammy wins and 7 nominations.

The tabla maestro previously secured a Grammy in 2009.

At the 51st Grammys, he won in the Best Contemporary World Music Album for Global Drum Project. 

His first nomination was in 1996 at the 38th Grammy Awards.

Zakir Hussain was featured in the Best World Music Album For Raga Aberi.

Other nominations across the years include Best Traditional World Music Album and Best Classical Crossover Album.
