U-19 World Cup: Australia shatter Indian hearts yet again in an ICC event

Australia outclassed India in the final of the 2024 ICC U-19 World Cup in Benoni on Sunday to win the tournament for a fourth time

The pace department led the way as the Aussies bundled India out for 174 after setting them  challenging target of 254

Australia have now defeated India in the knockout stage of an ICC event on four different occasions within a year, three of them in the summit clash

It started with Meg Lanning and Co knocking the Indians out of the Women’s T20 World Cup with a thrilling victory in the semi-finals in February last year

Pat Cummins’ Australians would then outplay India in the final of the second edition of the World Test Championship at The Oval in London in June

Cummins would then lead his team to victory in the ICC World Cup in India later that year, beating the home team by six wickets in the final that took place on 19 November in Ahmedabad

Australia will now be shifting their focus to the Men’s T20 World Cup that takes place in June, with Mitch Marsh and Co aiming to wrest the trophy from England’s grasp
