PM Modi unveils development projects worth Rs 17,300 crore in Thoothukudi

In Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects valued at Rs 17,300 crore for the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said the projects were symbolic of the spirit of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'.

The Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V O Chidambaranar Port was officially opened by the Prime Minister as a first step toward creating a transhipment hub for the east coast of the nation.

In order to establish the V O Chidambaranar Port as the nation's first Green Hydrogen Hub Port, the Prime Minister has launched a number of other projects. 

PM Modi went to Thoothukudi to see an exhibit on the nation's first Green Hydrogen Hub. In keeping with the Harit Nauka effort, the Prime Minister also launched India's first domestically built green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vehicle during today's event.

During the program, the Prime Minister also dedicated tourist facilities at 75 lighthouses located in ten States and Union territories. 

PM Modi committed to national rail projects, including the doubling of the Vanchi Maniyachchi - Nagercoil train line, which includes the sections between Melappalayam and Aralvaymoli and Vanchi Maniyachchi - Tirunelveli.
