Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has announced the unveiling of the production version of the Tesla Roadster later this year.
The electric model is expected to arrive with impressive performance statistics, including a sub-1.0sec 0-60mph time.
Musk has stated that the brief for the car has been “radically increased”, promising a unique vehicle.
The 2017 Tesla Roadster was promised to had a 0-60mph time of 1.9 seconds and a top speed of over 250 mph.
The new Tesla Roadster could become the fastest-accelerating production car.
An optional rocket-thruster package, developed with SpaceX, could propel the Roadster to 60mph in 1.1sec.
This is significantly quicker than the 1.95sec 0-100kph time claimed for the Rimac Nevera, the world’s fastest-accelerating production car.
