Kanpur’s Vaibhav Gupta emerged as the winner of Indian Idol Season 14 during the Grand Finale held on March 3.
Vaibhav was awarded a trophy, a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs and a swanky new car for winning the singing reality show.
Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury and Piyush Panwar were declared first and second runners-up, receiving 5 lakhs each.
Reflecting on his journey and win, Vaibhav expressed, “It feels surreal to have won the Indian Idol 14 trophy."
"Taking forward the legacy of this beloved and prestigious show is a tremendous honour," he said.
He thanked the judges, the team, and the audience for their unwavering support, which made him feel like a "true idol".
Judge Shreya Ghoshal said, “Vaibhav’s journey on the show has been remarkable, consistent and inspiring."
With his versatility and power-packed performances, Vaibhav is set to make a mark in the music industry.
"This is just the start. God willing, I wish to enter Bollywood now," Vaibhav told Indian Express after his win.
