Indian Premier League (IPL) team Punjab Kings announced a change in their home ground from their usual IS Bindra PCA Stadium, Mohali.

The PCA stadium, that has a capacity of 27,000, has been hosting matches since the IPL's inception in 2008.

Punjab Kings’ matches for the upcoming 2024 IPL season, will be held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali.

The stadium, a host of domestic matches for the past few years, features top-class facilities, with up to 33,000 spectators capacity.

It boasts a herringbone drainage system, capable of removing water within 25-30 minutes after rain stops, ensuring minimal disruptions in matches.

Unlike traditional soil, the ground surface is composed of sand, offering superior stability albeit requiring meticulous maintenance.

It houses two international-standard dressing rooms with steam, sauna and ice bath facilities, alongside a world-class gymnasium.

It will be officially inaugurated when Punjab Kings commence their campaign against the Delhi Capitals on March 23.

PCA secretary Dilsher Khanna expressed gratitude to the BCCI for approving the new stadium, emphasizing the desire for fans to enjoy matches in the new venue.
