Producer: Peuli Bakshi

On March 11 (Monday), SpaceX launched 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch marked the second leg of SpaceX's doubleheader, after launching a total of 46 Starlink satellites into orbit from Florida and California.

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink spacecraft lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 9:39 am IST.

The rocket entered low-Earth orbit about 65 minutes after launch, where it deployed the internet satellites.

This launch is the 17th launch and landing for this particular booster, with 11 of its 16 missions to date being Starlink flights.

Starlink is SpaceX's broadband megaconstellation designed to provide internet service to people globally.

Nearly 5,500 operational Starlink satellites are in LEO, with plans to deploy more. SpaceX already has permission for 12,000 and has applied for 30,000 more.

The first batch of satellites successfully landed on the droneship "Of Course I Still Love You" for its 17th successful launch and landing.
