Facts about ₹90 coin unveiled by PM Modi for RBI's 90th anniversary

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a special coin on Monday April 1.

A special ₹90 denomination coin was unveiled by the finance ministry to celebrate 90 years of central bank.

Crafted with 99.99% pure silver, the unique commemorative coin weighs approximately 40 grams.

The coin serves as a symbol of the RBI's extensive history and achievements over the course of nine decades.

The coin features the RBI emblem at its center, with "RBI@90" inscribed below, symbolising the institution's legacy and contribution to India's financial stability.

It also showcases the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar, representing India's cultural heritage and democratic ideals, with the national motto "Satyamev Jayate" engraved below in Devanagari script.

The function was also attended by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and other members of the RBI.
