How to Grow Strawberries at Home
Different types of strawberries demand different ways of caring. Here's a step-by-step guide to growing strawberries in your home garden.
Step 1
Choose planting ever-bearing strawberries if you want a longer strawberry growing season.
Step 2
Take some hanging woven baskets and keep them in an open area.
Step 3
Now, pour the potting mix into the basket’s bottom half for your roots to grow enough. Mix some soil-based compost to provide nutrients to the plants.
Step 4
Take a huge tub and add some water to it. Immerse strawberry plants in water for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Gently move the roots away from each other so that they are not stuck to the bottom of the soil.
Step 6
Create a gap between the strawberry plants and place them around the rim.
Step 7
Now, plant the strawberries in a way that the tops of the root balls are 1 inch below the rim of the basket.
Step 8
Cover up your basket with a potting mix just underneath the rim.
