Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta: When Bollywood stars faced threats from the Underworld

Recently, Salman Khan came under scrutiny for after few gunshots were fired outside his house

The star is being threatened by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi over his infamous 1998 BlackBuck case that happened in Rajasthan during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain

Back in 2001, Preity Zinta became the only actress to testify against them in the court. Back in 2018, during an interview, she recalled the time and what transpired

She said, “For the record, if I knew that everyone was going to back out, I also would have. It was a scary time in my life. I should have been protected. Whatever I said in court was on TV ten minutes later."

The actress added, "I don't think there was anything happening on that set. But there was definitely fear going around. Because Rakesh ji (Roshan) had been shot. Everyone was paranoid."

The next one in line is Shah Rukh Khan. He too spoke about them in an interaction and said, "They would set up a system, and they would say you do it. I may not have succumbed to it, but then they shoot you."

In Anupama Chopra’s book King Of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema‘, the star revealed, "Abu Salem would tell me that he could see me. It was like living under a telescope."

Karan Johar said how a man from the underworld named Abu Salem called them and asked them not to release Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on that particular Friday in 1998

Not just this, he also added how his mother-producer Hiroo Johar was paralysed with terror when she heard ‘we’re going to shoot him if you release this film on Friday’.

An attempt was made to shoot the filmmaker after the historic success of his directorial Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai that launched his son Hrithik Roshan

In an interview shared by Wild Film India, Hrithik had said, "That entire phase of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai is a very memorable time in my life. From the release of the film, to Dad being shot."
