5 cool Rajasthani drinks to quench your thirst in summer

Jodhpuri Maadi: A delicious curd-based drink, with a creamy texture, it is known for its cooling properties and the go-to choice for many when summer is at its peak

Boil 2 cups of water with 3 spoon wheat flour. Remove from heat and let it coo. Add hing, salt, buttermilk, cumin and mustard seeds to it. Adjust the consistency with more water if needed. Serve chilled

Raabdi: A staple in the state, Raabdi is a refreshing fermented drink made from bajra and buttermilk. It is popular also because it promotes good digestion and boosts energy

Mix bajra flour with buttermilk and water to form a smooth batter. Add salt and roasted cumin powder for flavour. Cook it on low flame and wait until it is thick. Serve chilled

Pudina chaas: Some also call it mint buttermilk because this refreshing drink is made with curd and fresh mint leaves. It is among the most popular choices for cooling down on a hot day

Blend curd, fresh mint or curry leaves, salt, cumin powder, and ginger (optional) in such a way that it becomes smooth and frothy. Pour the drink over ice and garnish with a sprig of mint for a vibrant, revitalising drink

Kairi panna: Some also call it Aam panna, a traditional drink made from raw mangoes. Like other parts of India, this drink is very popular in Rajasthan too because of its cooling and hydrating properties

Boil raw mangoes until it becomes soft. It will then be easier to remove the skin and pulp. Once you've collected the pulp, blend it with sugar, black salt, roasted cumin powder, and water. Strain the mixture, serve chilled

Imalvaani: This drink is tangy and refreshing  and is made with tamarind pulp. It's known for its hydrating and digestive benefits

Soak tamarind and jaggery (gur) in water  for a few hours and then strain to extract  the pulp. Add black salt, roasted cumin powder, and water to it. Chill the drink in  the refrigerator and serve cold
