The polling station in Nongriat village, located in the jungle at the southern end of the East Khasi Hills District in Meghalaya, is one of the most serene, challenging, remote, and unmotorable polling stations in the country.

Located at a height of 15,256 feet in the Mandi parliamentary constituency, the polling station had a 100 per cent turnout in 2019.

Previously, the highest polling station in the country was located in Sikkim, at an elevation of 14,400 feet in the Lahaul-Spiti district.
