What not to drink in summer

Moneycontrol News April 23, 2024

Hot coffee

While a hot cup of coffee can be comforting, it can also raise your body temperature on a hot day. If you need your caffeine fix, try iced coffee or cold brew instead.

Alcohol

While it might be tempting to enjoy a cold beer or cocktail on a hot day, alcohol can dehydrate the body and impair your ability to regulate temperature.

Energy drinks

While they may provide a temporary energy boost, many energy drinks are loaded with sugar, caffeine, and other stimulants that can lead to dehydration and other health issues.

Fruit juices

While fruit juices may seem like a healthy choice, they often contain added sugars and lack the fiber found in whole fruits.

Sugary smoothies

Smoothies made with excessive amounts of fruit juice, sweetened yogurt, or added sugars can be high in calories and sugar. Stick to smoothies made with whole fruits and vegetables.

Creamy milkshakes

Milkshakes and creamy beverages can be heavy and calorically dense, making them unsuitable for hot weather.

High-sodium drinks

While they can be beneficial for replenishing electrolytes during intense physical activity, many sports drinks contain added sugars and calories.
