How To Make Fudgy Chocolate Brownies This Weekend

Brownies feature a fudgy center, a slightly crusty top, and layers of decadence. Try this easy recipe to make fudgy chocolate brownies this weekend.

Salted butter - 1 cup Dark chocolate - 3 cups Cocoa powder - 3/4 cup Sugar - 1/2 cup Vanilla essence (optional) - 1 tbsp Eggs - 3 Flour - 1/3 cup Espresso powder - 1 tsp Confectioner's sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Preheat oven to 150 degrees C.

Step 1

In a double boiler, melt butter and chocolate until smooth.

Step 2

Add vanilla essence. Then sprinkle in the cocoa and sugar, and stir.

Step 3

Remove from heat, and allow the batter to cool for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Stir in the eggs, one at a time. Gently add flour until halfway incorporated and stir. Then add espresso powder.

Step 5

Pour batter into a greased 8-inch square baking tin. Bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees C.

Step 6

When the buzzer goes off, open the oven. The top of the brownie has a shiny crust and the sides are just beginning to come away from the tin.

Step 7

Leave the brownies in the tin until completely cold. Then, cut it into squares,  top it off with confectioner's sugar, and dig in.
