Boneless chicken - 500 gm Hung curd - 1/2 cup Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp Garam masala - 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste 1.5 tsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp Lemon juice - 3 tbsp Oil - 1 tbsp Wooden skewers - 7 or 8 Lemon slices - 7 or 8 Butter - 3 tbsp Salt (as per taste)
Take chicken pieces and cut them into small pieces. Pat them dry with tissue paper and place them into a large mixing bowl.
Step 1
Add hung curd on top of it along with other spices – coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, Kashmiri chilli powder, and turmeric powder – and mix all the ingredients properly. If you want the flavours of the spices to be deeply ingrained in the meat, poke it with a fork before marinating.
Step 2
After the spices, add lemon juice and oil to the marination. Make sure to mix everything evenly so that the chicken pieces are coated well. Set it aside and let the pieces marinate for 6-8 hours.
Step 3
Soak the wooden skewers for 20 minutes in hot water. After the marinated chicken is ready, thread it into the skewers, alternating with lemon slices.
Step 4
Take a pan and heat it. Dab a little butter on it and gently place the lemon chicken tikka skewers on it.
Step 5
Cook until they are tender and slightly charred. Add the rest of the melted butter on top of it along with some lemon juice.
Step 6
Remove from the skewers and serve hot with mint chutney and onion rings. And voila! Your lemon chicken tikka is ready to serve!
