IMD releases monsoon update: Onset of monsoon in parts of India

The
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)
has on Monday, May 13,
released
the
forecast of monsoon
in the country.
The
Southwest monsoon
is likely to advance into
south Andaman Sea and some parts of southeast Bay of Bengal
on
Sunday, May 19.
The weather department said that
rain is expected
in
southern peninsular India
by
Friday, May 17
.
East
and
central India
are also likely to experience
wet spells
by
Tuesday, May 14.
There is also a prediction of
rainfall accompanied by gusty winds
and a
chance of hail
at
isolated places
in
Madhya Pradesh
on
Monday, May 13.
IMD
has also indicated that there is a
possibility of heat returning
to
northwestern India
from
May 16
.
