Simple Vegan Naan Recipe

In a bowl, mix 1 cup warm water, 2 tsp sugar, and 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.

In a large bowl, combine 3 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tsp baking powder. Add the yeast mixture and 2 tbsp olive oil.

Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.

Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours. Divide the dough into small balls.

Roll each ball into a flat oval shape. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook each naan for 2-3 minutes on each side until bubbly and golden. Brush with melted vegan butter and serve warm.
