Begin by roasting the toor dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper and red chillies, separately. The aim is to make sure to extract their respective aromatic essence and then create a symphony of delicious flavours.
Once the dry roasted ingredients cool down, put them into the grinder. Pulse them till it turns into a finely ground aromatic powder. Voila! Your homemade rasam powder is ready to be included in any recipe you want.
