Delicious Milk Cake Recipe To Try Post Dinner

Milk cake is a traditional Indian sweet made with curdled milk, a pinch of saffron, and lots of dry fruits. Here's a step-by-step guide to making milk cake at home for post-dinner dessert.

Ingredients Milk - 1 ltr Tartaric powder - 1/2 tsp Lemon juice - 1 tsp Sugar/grated jaggery - 100 gm Corn flour - 1 tsp Saffron - 7 strands Silver leaf (for garnishing) Green cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp Dry fruits 1/2 cup Cream - 2 tbsps

Step 1 Boil the milk, add tartaric powder, pinch by pinch, with the lemon juice until the milk begins to curdle.

Step 2 Reduce liquid by half. Stir in sugar. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens.

Step 3 Sprinkle in corn flour, dissolved in a little extra milk.

Step 4 Simmer for a further 3-4 minutes. Stir in saffron.

Step 5 Spread out onto a greased tray in a layer 1.5 thick, or on a transparency sheet. Let it cool.

Step 6 Decorate with silver leaf, cardamom powder, dried fruit, and a drizzle of cream before serving.
