NHAI Hikes Tolls Across Highways

The change is toll price was effective from June 3.

The National Highways Authority of India has decided to increase rates by an average of 5%.

The toll fee is updated annually to reflect wholesale price index (CPI)-based inflation increases.

There are roughly 855 plazas along the national highway network.

There are around 675 public-funded fee plazas, with 180 handled by concessionaires.

The National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, govern the charges.

The hike is a part of NHAI’s yearly process.

The price hike is decided based on a number of other factors as well.
