A fire broke out in an apartment in Mangaf city of Kuwait on 12 June, 2024, killing around 49 people.

Of the 49 killed in the fire, 41 are said to be Indian workers, many from Kerala state of India.

Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabeh ordered authorities to investigate the massive fire that brokeout in the apartment of Mangaf, Kuwait.

The fire started in the kitchen of the seven storey building at 4 A.M when all the residents of the apartment were sleeping.

Kuwaiti officials stated that the majority of the deaths were caused by smoke inhalation when the Indian workers were sleeping.
