The Centre has cancelled the decision to award grace marks to 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates, offering them a chance to retake the exam on June 23 instead.
Candidates given grace marks can opt for a re-test on June 23. If they choose not to, their original scores, excluding grace marks, will be used.
The Supreme Court stated that the counselling process for admissions will continue as planned, unaffected by the decision on grace marks.
Re-test results will be declared on June 30, with counselling for MBBS, BDS, and other courses commencing on July 6.
The Supreme Court will hear all related pleas, including those from Alakh Pandey of Physics Wallah and petitions alleging exam malpractices, on July 8.
Petitions allege question paper leaks and other malpractices during NEET-UG 2024, leading to calls for the exam's cancellation.
The NEET-UG exam, conducted on May 5 across 4,750 centres, saw participation from around 24 lakh candidates. Results were announced on June 4.
Allegations of irregularities, including grace marks and paper leaks, led to widespread protests and legal actions across multiple courts.
An unprecedented 67 students scored a perfect 720, raising suspicions of irregularities, particularly with six top scorers from a single Haryana centre.
Scores of students protested in Delhi on June 10, demanding an investigation into the alleged irregularities and the influence of grace marks.
