T20 World Cup 2024: England's Road to the Semis

England secured their semi-final berth after their Sunday Super Eight win vs USA, powered by skipper Jos Buttler's 83 (38) and Adil Rashid's 2/13 (4).

The Jos Buttler-led side was to start their T20 World Cup 2024 venture on June 5 by taking on Scotland, but the match had to be abandoned due to rain.

So, England played their first Group B match against Australia on June 8. They did not have an ideal start as Australia beat them by 36 runs.

The defending champions were at the bottom of the table with 1 point, but roared back into the game by winning their last two group-stage fixtures.

On June 14, England registered a historic win against Oman by bundling them at just 47, before chasing it down in just 3.1 overs.

Two days later, a similar fate was met to Namibia as England beat them by 41 runs. England posted 122/5 in just 10 overs, in the rain-disrupted match.

In the Super Eight stage, England won their first against West Indies by 8 wickets but South Africa broke their winning streak by beating them in their next.

They aced their last Super Eight match, by beating USA by a big margin and storming their way into the semi-final, to be held vs South Africa on Thursday.
