First Underground Metro Service In Mumbai To Start In July: See Details

Mumbai’s first underground metro is scheduled to open in July.

The underground metro will cover 33.5 kilometres.

It cover 27 stations out of which 26 are underground.

The metro service will be available between 6:30 am and 11 pm.

The service promises to alleviate the city’s chronic traffic problems.

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has committed about Rs 37,000 crores to this ambitious project.

Extensive digging work, spanning 56 kilometres of land, began in 2017.

However, the work was halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tunnel's second phase will be completed within the next eight months.
