Pandya and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga now jointly occupy the position.
Pandya achieved it on the back of his triumphant T20 World Cup run.
Suryakumar Yadav had previously held the top position in the rankings for T20I batters.
He had held this spot since December last year.
Travis Head recently dethroned SKY to reach the pinnacle.
Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were also crowned the number 1 batter in T20I.
Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi had earlier earned the number 1 rank in the bowlers’ category.
