Sawan is all about indulging in seasonal specialities. Here are some Punjabi-special sawan desserts that are just perfect for the rainy weather.

Meetha Puda

Make a consistent batter with wheat flour, sugar, milk, and cardamom. Cook in batches with generous ghee till it’s golden brown.

Kheer

Cook rice in milk along with sugar and cardamom. Serve it with a garnishing of chopped dry fruits and nuts.

Sewiyan

Boil milk mixed with sugar and add roasted vermicelli to it. Cook till it gets soft. Add flavours like dry fruits, cardamom, rose water, etc.

Atta Halwa

Add ghee to a kadhai and roast wheat flour in it. Once, the mix turns brown, gradually add water and keep stirring so that no lumps are formed. Add sugar and chopped dry fruits.

Pinni

Blend sugar, dry fruits, nuts, and jaggery. Take a pot, add some ghee and the mixture you made, and cook until it turns golden. Add wheat flour and ghee and cook until you get a uniform mixture. Combine all the ingredients together and give them the shape of a ball.
