Mark Wood Replaces James Anderson For Second Test Against West Indies

England made one change to their playing XI ahead of the 2nd Test.

Pacer Mark Wood has been recalled to replace James Anderson.

Anderson was seen at Trent Bridge on Tuesday as England’s bowling coach, following his retirement.

Wood earned selection despite not playing a first-class match for Durham this season.

He had featured in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Wood picked up 3 wickets in 5 matches in the competition.

This will be England’s first home Test since 2012 without Anderson and Stuart Broad in the playing XI.

Overall, it is also the 2nd Test since 2007 without the two pacers in the squad.

The England vs West Indies 2nd Test will begin on Thursday.

England won the series opener by an innings and 114 runs at the Lord’s.
