Champions Trophy 2025: Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan's Remark on India's Refusal To Play in Pakistan

The 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9 and India is reluctant to travel there. Here's what players have to say about it.

Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh thinks that "the stance of the BCCI (to not send Team India to Pakistan) is absolutely correct."

"The situation in Pakistan is such that incidents occur almost every day. I don’t think it’s safe (for the team) to go there," he said.

Former Indian spinner, Pragyan Ojha also agrees with Team India's not travelling to Pakistan, as he thinks they are pretty "inconsistent with security".

When BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla was asked about his stance, he said, "We send our team only when the Government of India permits us."

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik said, "Hum bahut acche log hai (we are good people)...I’m sure the Indian team should definitely come."

As per him, "Politics shouldn’t come into sports. The Pakistan team went to India last year, and now it’s a good opportunity for the Indian team too."

Pakistan's Younis Khan was also of a similar opinion. He said, "Virat Kohli should come to Pakistan" as it might be the “only thing left" in his career.
