Meet the Newly Appointed Governors of 9 States: Who Are They?

President Droupadi Murmu has appointed new Governors for nine states and a Lieutenant Governor for Puducherry. The announcement was made by Rashtrapati Bhavan on the night of July 27. Here's who they are:

Santosh Kumar Gangwar

Former Union Minister and eight-time Member of Parliament, has been appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand.

CP Radhakrishnan

He will now serve as the Governor of Maharashtra. Previously, he was the Governor of Jharkhand with additional charge of Telangana.

Om Prakash Mathur

BJP National Vice President and former RSS pracharak, has been appointed as the Governor of Sikkim, succeeding Lakshman Acharya.

Lakshman Prasad Acharya

He has been appointed as the Governor of Assam and will also take on the role of Governor of Manipur.

Gulab Chand Kataria

He has been moved to Punjab as the state Governor and will also serve as the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

A BJP leader and former Maharashtra Assembly Speaker, has been appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan.

Former Lok Sabha MP from Assam, has been appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana, a Congress-ruled state.
