Is the sun going to die? Here's what experts say

The sun, which was formed around 4.57 billion years ago, will most likely die when it reaches the age of 10-11 billion years, according to a study published by European Space Agency (ESA).

By using ESA's Gaia telescope, it can be determined exactly when the sun can run out of its fuel.

The study reveals that currently the sun is in its "comfortable middle age". But as the sun's core starts losing its hydrogen fuel it will cool down and turn in to a  giant red star.

The study also found out that the sun will reach its maximum temperature by approximately eight billion years of  age. Earlier, White Dwarf, a former star exhausted all of its hydrogen.
