Maharashtrian Moogacha Bhaat Recipe for Lunch

Ingredients    1 cup of rice    1 cup of sprouted gram    1 finely chopped onion    1 finely chopped tomato    3 to 4 finely chopped green chillies    1 tsp of ginger garlic paste    Half a cup of coriander leaves    Half a cup of mint Leaves    1 tsp of cumin seeds    1 tsp of red chilli powder    1 tsp of garam masala    Half tsp of turmeric powder    1 cinnamon    4 cloves    6-8 peppercorns    1 star anise seed    4 green cardamom    2 bay leaves    2 tsp of oil    Salt to taste    3 cups of hot water    1 tsp of lemon juice

Wash the rice and let it soak for half an hour. After that, take a pan and heat some oil in it.

Then add dry masalas like cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and bay leaves along with some ginger garlic paste. Saute the mixture, till the raw smell subsides.

When the mix is cooked well, add onions to it and cook till it turns shiny.

Let the mixture cook for five minutes on a low flame and make sure the oil is separated.

Add the sprouted gram and rice to the mix and pour three cups of hot water into it. Stir the ingredients and cover the pan.

The rice needs to be cooked for 15 to 20 minutes on low flame, then squeeze some lemon juice.

Garnish the dish with chopped coriander and your nutritious moogacha bhaat is ready.
