Producer: Priyanka Das Editor: Mohit Bisht

Citreon Basalt is the company’s fifth offering in the market after notable products that include C3, eC3, C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross.

Basalt follows the company’s signature style statement, featuring a similar headlight setup, split DRLs, and an impressive bonnet, flaunting Citreon’s chrome finish logo at the front.

The model gets stylish dual-tone alloy wheels, ditching the blacked-out ones that were seen in the concept avatar. From the side, it has been given decent-sized cladding that enhances its overall charm.

At the rear, it is complemented by wraparound LED tail lights, which resemble C3 Aircross, a blacked-out bumper and a silver finish skid plate for extra protection.

Jumping inside the cabin, the company has used a 7-inch  fully digital cluster and a robust 10.2-inch infotainment system. The unit supports all the wireless car connect technology including wireless Android, Apple and Auto carplay.

Under the hood, Basalt is powered by both 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines.

The former generates a maximum power of 80 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, while the latter churns out an impressive 108 bhp and up to 205 Nm of peak torque.

Its price starts at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and will compete against Tata Curvv EV.
