Traditional Rajasthani dish, Besan ke Gatte is a must-try for anyone looking to explore the authentic flavours of India. Here's a quick recipe of the Indian curry.
Ingredients: For the gatte — - 2 cups gram flour (besan) - 1/2 cup water - 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder - 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder - Salt, to taste - 1 tablespoon mustard oil
For the curry: - 2 medium onion grated - 2-3 tomatoes pureed - 1 cup yogurt - 1/2 cup water - 1 tablespoon mustard oil - 1 onion - 1 teaspoon cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste powder - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder - Salt, to taste
Prepare the gatte by mixing gram flour, water, and spices in a bowl.
Shape into small cylindrical dumplings and fry in medium heat until crispy and golden brown.
Prepare the curry by heating oil and adding cumin seeds, grated onion, tomato puree, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.
Add water, and salt to the mixture. Let it simmer for 5 minutes till the gravy thickness.
Add the fried gatte to the curry and simmer for 2 minutes. Serve hot with rice or roti and enjoy!
